Workshop 2019

On May 17th 2019, contactpointnano is organizing a workshop on working with novel nanomaterials in an industrial setting in Geneva, Switzerland. The workshop is mainly targeting Start-ups, SMEs and established companies that are already working with novel nanomaterials or are planning to integrate nanotech into their production lines. Deadline for registration is 10 May 2019.

Switzerland occupies a leading position internationally in the field of nanoresearch. However, when it comes to transposing existing knowledge into practice and fully exploiting the application potential of synthetic nanomaterials, companies face numerous questions and hurdles – from the characterization of new materials and their safe handling to the continuous changes in national and international regulatory requirements.

By bundling the scientific and regulatory expertise available in Switzerland,, an initiative supported by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), aims to bridge this gap.

  • You will learn all you need to know about the often very complex regulatory dispositions regarding the safety of nanomaterials or nano-enabled products in consumer goods, food, the health sector and the environment
  • You will discover the practical implications of current and future regulatory framework dispositions (REACH/EFSA/MedTech)
  • You will get the opportunity to exchange your experience and to network with other Swiss companies
